Charity & Community Projects
Since our inception, Quilters in Bloom has given to the community through high school scholarships, Bloomsburg/Geisinger Hospital's first baby of the year, Bloomsburg Library, 911 raggy quilts, Columbia/Montour Hospice, Rotoplast, Kidspeace, Alaskan Bible School, Camp Courage, Women's Center, Special Olympics, EOS Therapeutic Riding, Ronald McDonald House, and Quilts of Valor.
Scholarship Quilt
Each year the guild works together to make and raffle a quilt to earn money for local high school scholarships. Members offer raffle tickets throughout the year and a winner is selected each September.
Featured Charity
In addition to making and raffling a quilt to earn money for local high school scholarships, and making a New Year's baby quilt, the guild selects a community organization to benefit from our quilting skills with a featured project. This year we will be making tote bags for AGAPE Love From Above: a non-denominational, faith-based mission to serve the people in our area. Their goal is to “fill in the gaps” which currently exist between people in need, and the community services available to assist them.

Quilting at the Bloomsburg Fair
Quilting is often viewed as a lost art. Our members demonstrate hand quilting in the barn at the Bloomsburg Fair each year. The week provides us with an opportunity to sell raffle tickets for our scholarship quilt, recruit guild members, and share our activities with the members of the community.
TreeFest at the Caldwell Consistory
In addition to making quilts, we make handmade ornaments to decorate a tree at Treefest each year. Although the event benefits the Bloomsburg Theater Ensemble, the trees and decorations are given to needy families in the area who would be without for Christmas.
